A big Thank You to Diane Ribeiro, aka "Pickles" for her continued support of the shelter.  On May 23rd she hosted the "3rd Annual Ride for Pets" with all proceeds benefitting our animals!  It was a great success and we are already looking forward to next year's ride!

A big Happy Birthday to Jillian Fitting!  Instead of receiving gifts for her self, Jillian celebrated her birthday with all her friends and family by collecting food donations for the animals!  Her kindness and thoughtfulness for the animals are greatly appreciated!

Thank you to Green River Silver Co. who recently raised $1,650 for our animals! Their Bristol location sold a sterling silver paw print pendant, where $10 from every sale was donated directly to the Friends of The Bristol Animal Shelter to assist in our continuous efforts to protect animals. Here is Maureen Trenn and Brittany Saucier of Green River Silver Co. presenting a check to Diane Gibree and Jen Federico of the Bristol Animal Shelter with the assistance of Boo the dog.

A big Happy Birthday to Noah Krupowicz!  Noah had a birthday party with all of his friends.  Instead of asking for gifts for himself, Noah asked all of his friends to bring a donation for the animal shelter.  His generosity and big heart are greatly apreciated!  Woof & Meow!

Woof and Meow to Justin Matrone!  Justin had a food drive in his neighborhood to collect donations for all of the shelter animals.  It is this sort of generosity that has made us the success which we have become.

A big Happy Birthday to Laney Goodrich!  Laney just celebrated her 8th birthday with all of her friends and family.  As a birthday wish, Laney asked that everyone bring a donation for the animals instead of bringing her a gift.  Laney delivered the donations to the shelter with her mom and her two dogs, one of which was adopted from the shelter about a year ago.  Remember Waggles?  Well Waggles is now Jules and is doing spectacularly well!  Laney's generoisty and her big heart are greatly appreciated!  Woof & meow from all of your friends here at the shelter!

Woof & Meow to Lucy Spence and the Spence Family!  They held a silent auction among their friends and raised much needed funds for the animals!  Lucy has been a dedicated volunteer for the shelter for several years.  Her continued dedication and efforts on behalf of the animals will forever be cherished!

Woof & Meow to Meg Lico and Dawn St. Angelo of St. Lukes!  They held a food drive and brought in boxes of pet food for the animals!

A big Happy Birthday Thank You to Christopher Casallino!  Christopher surprised us the other day with a collection of donations for the animals.  Christopher just turned 9 years old, and for his birthday party he had his friends bring donations for the animal shelter rather than bring gifts for himself!  Christopher has been a big supporter of the shelter and his continued efforts and generosity are greatly appreciated!

A Special thank you to our friends at the Little Friends Preschool who took the time to make dog biscuit treats for our four-legged friends for the holidays.  All of the dogs loved them and wanted to share the recipe with all of their furry friends!

Beefy Biscuits
2 C whole wheat or all purpose flour
1 C cornmeal
1/4 C wheat germ
2 tsp beef bouillon

Mix above ingredients in a medium bowl.  Add

1 lg egg
1 TBL cooking oil
1 C hot water

Stir well.  Roll out on a well floured surface to 1/2 inch thickness.  Place on ungreased cooking sheet.  Bake on center rack, (275F or 140C) for about 2 hours until dry and very hard.  Let stand overnight to dry thoroughly.  Makes 10 big bones and 14 puppy bones.

Meet Foley

...virtually of course!  Foley is our shelter guardian.  He came to us several years ago.  He had been badly abused, and mistrusted anyone who approached him.  With time, patience, and guidance Foley has come to believe in us and trust us.  In turn, he has taken to protecting the shelter, its foster residents, and human friends.  Foley has found a home at the shelter, and a purpose, but it is time to offer more to Foley and the homeless animals that come into our care.  Therefore Friends of the Bristol Animal Shelter was formed to aid in this mission.
