Happy Tails"LILLY"
Lilly was adopted from the shelter several years ago with her brother Boo. They have since moved south, but their mom keeps us updated. Both are doing very well! Lilly's mom sent this photo of her with these words, "Look at my girl laying on her pinecone pillow! I cannot believe it's comfy but she does it every day!! We are so greatful to have found them such a wonderful forever home! "BELLAMY" aka Bimmer
Bellamy was found in a car lot and brought into the shelter as a kitten where our volunteers named him Bimmer. It was discovered that he had a severely bad heart and was going to need to be on medications for the rest of his life. We knew he was going to be a hard adoption, but we believe in giving every animal a second chance. Bellamy did find his angel! She came all the way from the Cape! She took him home and he is doing great! Despite his heart condition, Bellamy's mom says he never stops moving long enough to even get a picture of him, but he loves to snuggle up with is brother Reagan which is how she finally got this picture. Bellamy is more proof that every animal can find his forever home! "BIG BOY or BB" aka Gino
Big Boy, aka Gino or Bully Boy while he was here at the shelter, has finally found his forever home! BB was at the shelter for just over a year. He is a really sweet cat, but he just didn't play well with the other cats. BB wanted to be the king of the shelter, and he succeeded! Because of his bullying, BB spent a lot of time in a cage. When his new owners saw him and heard his story, they immediately fell in love. Having had a "problem" cat in the passed, they totally understood where he was coming from. It took BB no time at all to settle nicely into his new home. He is the only cat in the house and is loving life!
"LUCY"
Lucy is one of our greatest adoptions this year! Lucy was at the shelter for a year and had been placed into several homes, but returned every time. It was discovered that Lucy is a very dominant dog with a high prey drive! Lucy needed to be adopted to a home with no other pets and with a very understanding and experienced dog person. She is a great dog, very affectionate, but it did take us awhile to find her perfect match, but we did! Lucy's new mom says that she loves to run in the tall grass, and just loves all the new smells around. We are so very happy that Lucy finally found her forever home! She is proof that EVERY animal deserves a second chance!
"JADE" aka Penny
Jade was not at shelter very long before she found her new home, she was one of the luckier ones for sure. Jade (white dog) is shown here playing tug of war with her new sister, Jewel. Here is what her new family had to say about her, "she is doing GREAT...loves her new sister Jewel and it took no time at all for them to start to play." We are very happy to hear such great news! We knew she was a sweetie the minute we saw her!
"NEMO" aka Bay Nemo came into the shelter this past summer. She was one of four cats that were left behind when her owners foreclosed on their home. Nemo was lucky that the neighbors noticed them and started caring for them before they called the shelter for us to take them in. Nemo was pregnant by the time she came to the shelter and had a litter of four kittens. This is what her new family has to say, "She is such a happy kitty! She is always rubbing against everyone, purring loudly and recently has started to "chirp" when she enters a room." Nemo was very furtunated to be given this second chance in her forever home.
"SHYLO"
Shylo was one of our Happy Tails from 2010. He came into the shelter as a small kitten and because he was so shy, he hide when people would come into adopt. Shylo spent most of his kittenhood at the shelter. It wasn't until he was about 9 months old that he finally found his forever home with a very special woman. This is what she has to say about Shylo: "You can see the heart in his fur. He is sooooo sweet. He watches TV with me every night and I’m always kissing him." We are so happy that Shylo was given a chance!
"JEWELS" aka Waggles
Jewels was adopted from the shelter about two years ago. She was an extremely timid and shy puppy. Jewels was lucky enough to have found a home with the Goodrich family. They understood that she just needed some patience and tender loving care. Two years later this is what they have to say about Jewels: "Jewels is less shy now, and very happy. She especially loves to run at the beach and play with our other dog, Maggie (a yellow lab)."
"DODGE & BEAUTY"
"ROSEBUD"
"MINNIE"
Minnie was a stray that was found and brought into the shelter. She was lucky enought not to have to spend too much time in the kennel before her new family came along to adopt her. This is a picture of her (in the white) with her new sister Fergie. This is what Minnie's new owners had to say about her: "Minnie is safe and happy with us in her new home. She slept under the covers for 9 hours without stirring. She woke up and pranced around like she has been living here for years." We are so glad to see that Minnie is so content in her new home!
"BINI" Bini was adopted from the shelter this past summer. He was found abandoned in Colt State Park. When Bini was adopted to his new home he was still very fearful of being abandoned again and it took some time for him to adjust, but now he is doing great. This is what is new owners have to say about Bini: "....he gets very excited when one of us gets home. We live in a condo so he loves when we take him to the tennis courts and he can run free! Bini is a super snuggler and loves to give hugs and kisses."
"MADDIE" aka Sandy
"OAKLEY"
Oakley was adopted from the shelter about 2 years ago. He was quite the wild dog! Oakley came to visit during our fundraiser to have his picture taken with Santa. He has obviously calmed down and found his perfect family! This is what Oakley's mom has to say about him: "We always say that we got Oakley from the "pumpkin patch," as he's our little pumpkin."
"LAYLA" aka Curly Sue
Layla, formly Curly Sue while she was at the animal shelter, was adopted last year. She came from one of our volunteers, Joan, who had just recently passed away. When her new family brought her to the vet for a check up, the vet recognized her right away as being one of Joan's cats and was very pleased that she had found her way to her new family. Her family says, as shown here in the picture, that she enjoys drinking water while in the tub! |
