"EVA"

Eva is a senior cat (10+ years) who was rescued from a hoarding situation and she needs a nice home to live out the rest of her days where she will get spoiled with individualized attention! She is a very sweet girl and very small too.  She loves to talk to you and loves to be snuggled.  Please give her a second chance as we have!  If interested, please come in for a visit.

 A Tribute to a Friend:

A Dog That I Once Knew
    by Jennifer Federico

Wandering alone,

I found you.

Your intimidating size
cautioned my steps,

but you were gentle;

I brought you to the shelter.

In a cage,

you were so angry;

barking at me,

but your eyes were so sad.

You had a story to tell;

I began to listen.

A biscuit is all it took

for you to give me your trust.

My heart had faith in you,

but with your sort,

my trust in you required time;

time that wouldn’t be there.

Through the wired wall,

we formed a bond.

Leaning against the metal,

you would try to get close to me,

so my fingers could rub your ears.

In a cage,

you were so ill;

staring at me,

and your eyes were so sad.

Forgetting about the barrier,

I reached in and gave you my consoling touch,

for what would be the first and only time.

I am Sorry that I couldn’t save you.

Sorry that I never got to hug you.

Sorry that I wasn’t there when you left this world.

Forgive me friend,

for I know better now;

to listen to my heart

is the lesson learned,

and so your story I will tell;

To Bruiser, a dog I once knew.
