About UsWe are a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization working to supplement the efforts of the Town of Bristol's no-kill Animal Care and Adoption Center. It is our mission to assist in providing a safe environment and emergency veterinary funding for the animals in their care until they find their forever homes.
In 2008, Friends campaigned for a new animal shelter. In November, Bristol residents voted for a bond to make this happen. The new home of the Bristol Animal Shelter will be a user-friendly building that will be constructed in two phases. The first phase will be an essential 9,000 sq.ft. center financed with a $2 million bond from the Town of Bristol that will also include a reception area, safe housing for animals, a quarantine room, and a humane education center. Upon completion, this public resource will also be earmarked as a Federal Emergency Management Agency site; in the event of a disaster, we will have facilities and resources to care for displaced animals.
